How to prevent stains on TPE

How to prevent stains on the TPE

A complete guide to preventing discoloration and dye transfer on your TPE torso doll

TPE is soft, flexible, delightfully realistic… but it has one small weakness: it absorbs pigments.

Dark clothing + prolonged pressure = risk of staining on the TPE . Fortunately, with the right techniques, you can wear black without drama.

Why does the TPE get stained?

TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) naturally contains oils which maintain its flexibility.

Under pressure (tight clothing, sitting position), these oils rise to the surface. If the textile contains unstable pigments, they can migrate. and cause discoloration of the TPE .

This is a chemical transfer favored by heat, pressure and time.

3. Pre-wash ritual

  • Hand wash at 30°C with mild detergent + white vinegar
  • Second wash at 40°C
  • Pressure test 5 kg for 24 hours
  • Then 30 kg for 24 hours

No transfer = garment validated.
